Why Should You Add Film?
For me, film photography offers a distinct charm that digital imaging struggles to replicate. Their is a closer relationship with my subject, where framing and time spent is more intentional. Waiting to see results, whether in a darkroom or from a roll sent out for development, turns each image into a small event rather than an instantaneous file.
Intentionality is very important to me, and film gives those photos just that little bit more. Those imperfections are not flaws but character that create variations that are difficult to reproduce. This unpredictability invites experimentation and rewards patience!
Beyond aesthetics, film frames a different way of seeing. The result is often quieter, more considered work that feels timeless and human. In a digital era that prioritizes speed and perfection, film’s tangible process and organic irregularities produce images with depth and authenticity that feel distinctly real.
I’m all about a tangible photo process I can get my hands on and keeping up with the historical processes.
